Meet Wedding Photographer, Tammi Camp

We are so thrilled to be featuring a photographer that we've worked with for a few of our photo shoots and who has photographed several brides wearing our bridal collection. Find out more about her and check out some of our favorite bridal images by Tammi.

Tell us about how you became inspired to become a photographer.

I’m a cosmetologist turned wedding, portrait, and brand photographer. Originally, I planned to work in a salon and maybe open my own one day, but things changed drastically while in beauty school. I started my own photography business mainly as a hobby, and from there the love of the craft grew and people wanted me to take their photo. I've always had a passion for art, I just didn’t know what kind of creative I’d end up being!

You have incredible bridal content, what do you love most about photographing weddings?

I love documenting history for people. There is something so powerful in creating work that outlives us. Photographs tell our stories, shift narratives, and are the only thing left representing us at the end of the day. My responsibility as a photographer is to create space for my subjects to be vulnerable and leave a bit of their true selves in the image.

What is your favorite part to photograph?

It’s a tie between those first few moments of celebration as a married couple that has so much excitement, relief, and pure joy. It’s a very sweet moment before joining the party, and everything sets in. Most often they become fully present and swept into the moment and forget the cameras are even there. The other is capturing grandparents and parents. Seeing their own witnessing of the day is just as important to document as the couple. Getting loved ones’ perspectives and viewing it through their eyes completes the story.

How do you stay inspired and creative?

I love fashion! Staying on the latest fashions inspired me! Another inspiration to me is just being observant on how human interact. Observing people connecting in everyday life and at weddings get me inspired and creative.

Who is your ally?

My biggest ally is my network. The people I choose to surround myself with, both personal and professional, I have incredible people in my life that are constantly cheering me on and encouraging me to reach my goals. It’s an amazing circle of people, inspiring and encourage each other. Not just close family and friends, but also my clients. They have been my biggest cheerleaders throughout my career and I wouldn’t be where I am without them supporting me.
