Bride and groom standing in a field, smiling, with wedding attire and flowers.

Weddings always carry a touch of magic and this chic celebration was no exception. Blending modern with farmhouse countryside. Every detail reflected love, personality, and heart. We’re delighted to spotlight one of our radiant ALLY Brides and her unforgettable day. Join us as we celebrate her story, her style inspiration, and the beautiful moments that made her wedding.

ALLY Shoes: Tell us about yourself.

Holly: I was born and raised in St. Louis and spent my college years in Chicago at Loyola University. After school, I am back to STL and taught as an elementary teacher for a few years before shifting careers in 2022. I now work for a local insurance agent in St. Louis and absolutely love it! There are a lot of other former teachers in the insurance industry and I feel like I still get the chance to use my skills in education while protecting families in our community. Outside of work, I love to play music. I grew up playing Irish music with my family and we still play together in a local band. St. Louis has a really great local music culture and I grew up surrounded and supported by so many amazing musicians! My husband and I have recently moved over to Kansas City in the last month, so we have loved spending time exploring our new home!

ALLY Shoes: What inspired your wedding’s theme, colors, or location?

Holly: When we were talking about design inspiration for our wedding, we drew a lot from the idea that we love to thrift and decorate our home with pieces we have found second hand. With that in mind, our planners helped us to pull pieces that felt vintage inspired with fun colors and designs. We brought in fun lamps as decor along with different textures and fabrics that you might not traditionally put together. The reception location we chose was really connected to our love of St. Louis City, we wanted to find somewhere that was beautiful and eclectic on its own without having to change up too much about the space. Unfortunately, our original venue was hit by the tornado that came through the city on May 16th, so we had to find a new venue three weeks before our wedding. I really have to thank our amazing planners and vendors who jumped into action to help us pivot to a new venue. We ended up at the Reverie in Chesterfield, MO and for all of the crazy emotions leading up to the day, I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing place to have held our reception. It was perfect and blended in with our designs so well!

ALLY Shoes: Love that you went with flats, what made you decide to make this decision?

Holly: I am someone who very rarely wears heels in my day-to-day, so I knew pretty early on that I would feel most comfortable and most like myself in flats. The issue I ran into was finding a shoe that was flat but still felt bridal and formal. The Ally Flats ended up being the perfect option because they were so beautiful and extremely supportive! I ended up being so happy with that decision, because I was on my dance floor the whole night but not in pain!

ALLY Shoes: Team DJ or Team Band

Holly: As a musician myself, I have to go with team band! DJ’s are so fun, but I love the energy that comes from live musicians who can pump the crowd up and bring that human element into the music.

ALLY Shoes: What's your best advice for future brides?

Holly: In the midst of a wedding culture where a million options and ways to do the day are thrown your way all the time, always find your center with your fiancée and trust what feels best for you two! It doesn’t matter whether you follow a trend or tradition, there is no perfect blueprint. Curveballs are bound to happen and things can turn out in a way you don’t expect, but as long as you’ve got your person to lean on, you will figure out the right way forward!

ALLY Shoes: Who is your ally?

Holly: My husband and I met in high school have been together for almost 13 years. He is my mirror for all things and has been by my side in every meaningful way since we were 16 years old. Ally is an understatement!
